威登庄园

在玻美侯(Pomerol)如果说最有历史的名庄，应算威登庄园莫属了，与威登庄园相比就连酒王之王-柏图斯也算是该区的后起之秀。庄园的名称，Certan起源于一个古法文单词Sertan。意思是土地贫瘠，不宜种植任何庄稼，土地不用纳地税之意。但这种土壤就十分适合种植酿酒葡萄。在法国大革命前，威登庄园由de May家族拥有，土地面积不少。但大革命爆发前，de May家出售了几块土地，也正巧是这样才令庄园逃过一劫，而且形成了几个现今宝物隆威名显赫的名庄。分别是威登庄园(Vieux Chateau Cer-tan)，迪美庄园(Chateau De May Certan) 和威登吉宏(Chateau Certan Giraud)。在十九世纪以前波美侯地区还未被认可为可产优质酒的名区，因此酒园甚少。1853年出版的法国酒书中威登庄园是本区唯一被记录的酒庄。1868年版的Cocks Et Feret法国酒书中，有17个被列入的玻美侯酒庄。其中威登排名第一，其次是卓龙(Trotanoy)，再其次出现柏图斯(Petrus)。所以威登肯定是十九世纪玻美侯的一号名庄。

(...) actual owner of the field, bought the Vieux Chateau Certan during the XXth century. Thanks to its excellent location, it enjoys one of the best Pomerols’ lands. Composed of 60% merlot, of 30% cabernet franc and of 10% cabernet sauvignon, its wines have a complexity and a unique character within the appellation, which give them a special dimension. The 14 hectares of the area also produce a second wine, La Gravette de Certan.
